CCL (cclglobal.com) has been requested by a major international oil company to provide a Safety Design Engineer - FPSO to work on deep offshore development. Residential position based in Lagos. Long term assignment under one year renewable contract. International travel / visits offshore as required. Excellent rate / T&Cs.
Degree qualified engineer. Previous West African experience is a plus. Effective communication / problem solving skills. All nationalities considered. Fluent written & spoken English.
5 years of professional HSE & Quality experience in E&P environment (Engineering & Operations). At least 3 years of direct experience as a Safety Engineer. Reporting to a manager in cross functional team will ensure HSE aspects in general & design safety issues in Detailed Design Engineering phase of the FPSO are fully addressed. Liaise with Project HSE Manager, HSE Engineer, Environmental Engineer & Operational Safety
Case Coordinator. Liaise on-site with FPSO & Hull construction site safety superintendents, supervisors & technicians, and contractors HSE specialists. Ensure adequacy of FPSO contractors design. Compliance with regulations, reference documents & best practices: detailed engineering, construction, tow, installation, hook-up commissioning & start-up. Specifically: Assessment of HSE human resources skills. Review of HSE documents construction & operating procedures. Review of studies / validation of Method Statements and JSAs. Review of concessions / exemptions. Validation of reporting data. Review of material & construction means. Part of evaluation of contractors & service providers. Make proposals for contracts requirements.
